Luuk V. van Zanten MBA, Marketing Director
Luuk has over two decades experience as a Yacht Consultant advising
clients on new construction and pre-owned yachts over 25 meters. Originally
from Holland, Luuk moved to Spain at 21, where he gained experience
working for the yacht brokerage companies Castlemain and Camper & Nicholsons.
In 1987, Luuk founded De Valk Yachts Spain. Since early in his career
Luuk has been collaborating closely with Cheoy Lee Shipyards ( China
) on new construction projects for the European market.
During a break from the yachting business, he completed an MBA degree
at the University of Chicago and has been involved several business consulting
projects.
Luuk founded YachtMarketing Limited primarily to focus on the market
niche of Motor Yacht Catamarans over 25 meters.
Johan Valentijn, Technical Director
Johan grew up at a family boat yard in Holland and completed an education
in naval architecture and marine engineering. He started his design career
in 1971 at Sparkman and Stephens in New York where for 5 years he was
responsible for the design of many successful racing and cruising sailing
yachts from 10 to 30 meters.
As owner of Johan Valentijn Ltd., for over 30 years, he has been involved
in the design and management of a large variety of different projects.
He has been the America 's Cup designer for 4 major campaigns for foreign
and domestic US groups. During these campaigns he was responsible for
the hi-tech research and development programs while serving as technical
manager and project co-ordinator for all the America 's Cup yachts he
designed.
He was the production and yard manager for Burger Boat Company in Wisconsin, USA, for a 5 year period and managed for the timely delivery of 12
high quality luxury motor yachts ranging from 26m to 40 meters.
In the last several years he has been involved in developing new organizational
structures and optimizing building methods for several boat building
companies as well as new project developments such as the Curvelle line
of catamarans among others.
Luc M. Vernet
Naval Architect and Yacht Designer. After decades of experience in yacht design and construction,
Luc found his niche in styling and three dimensional impressions. At heart he is an artist that
enjoys the merits of digital sculpting tools.
Luc had been closely involved in large yacht construction projects in Thailand and France

An ISO 9001: 2000 certified shipyard Cheoy Lee is of the only yards in the world to routinely build in steel, fiberglass and aluminum. It has been in business since 1870 and is still owned by the founding family.
